Hello!  My name is Steve Burkowske.  I am a full-time family ministry pastor in Safety Harbor, Florida which is just outside of Clearwater.  I have been here since August 2017.   Prior to that, I served at churches in Baltimore, Maryland; Madisonville, Kentucky; Gadsden, Alabama; and in Ocala, Florida.   I share this ministry with my wife, Dawn, of 25 years.  Our quiver has been full for a long time with a three daughters, a son and daughter-in-law, and now a grandson who is stealing much of our attention these days.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry Leadership with a Pastoral Ministry Emphasis from Lee University.  Currently, I am enrolled as a graduate student with Lee University working toward a Masters of Arts degree in Ministry Studies with a Leadership Emphasis.  My ministry credentials are with the Church of God, Cleveland, TN with the rank of Ordained Bishop.

For those that follow the world of personality tests, according to Myers Briggs, I am an ESFJ-A.  I am also an Enneagram type 1 with a strong 2 wing with one-to-one and social sub-types.  My top two love languages are words of affirmation and physical touch.

My favorite sports to play are football, volleyball, bowling and softball.  I’m not too shabby with table tennis, Foosball, and the occasional game of pool.  I am a huge Baltimore Ravens fan for the NFL; and, with college football there is no better team than the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Roll Tide!  Some more of my favorite things include comic books and related fandom, all things Star Wars, movies and the theater, music, traveling (domestic and abroad), and I love to write.

My ministry experience has primarily been focused on children’s ministry for almost 25 years.  I have served as an associate pastor in addition to youth and college ministry as well and served on regional and national children’s boards.  Over the years I have been invited to speak at children’s & youth camps, training workshops and leadership conferences.  It has also been my privilege to participate in missions trips to the Dominican Republic, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Honduras and the Philippines.  I hope to return to all of these places and travel to many more nations before my journey is complete.

This is just a snapshot of the person I call me.  As I mentioned, I love to write, and so you should expect to get to know me in a greater way through the entries I post here.
